Who else is excited? I have the day off and even though I don't have tickets - you know I will be sitting in front of the TV - jersey on - Albert Pujols cardboard cutout next to me - every Cardinal blanket and pillow is already out....Watching the game drinking a BUD!!! (as my dad always says)
I have spent the day reading as much as I can about the team...new players and all. A whole new set of jersey numbers to learn. Something that keeps coming up though is the alleged domination of the Chicago Cubs in the National League. Most sportscasters are predicting the Cubs will BE in the World Series but will not WIN it. I suppose everyone is entitled to the chance!
So join me in raising your glass - Here's to you Tony LaRussa, Albert Pujols, Yadier Molina, IZZY, Rick Ankiel, Adam Wainwright and the rest of the team - may your warm ups be productive - your games played to the best of your ability - and your health always be better than mine!!

My brand-new Cardinal flag is flying on W. Myrtle Street! Opening day...hoory! That game over in Japan really didn't start baseball season for me. Zim hitting the ball out of the park for a Nats win in the new stadium ..NOW that's a great way to start baseball 2008.
